Koh Phi Phi is reached by ferry from Phuket’s Rassada Pier (about two hours), from Krabi’s Klong Jilad pier and from Ao Nang (about one and a half to two hours). Speedboats are faster and bumpier. All arrive at Ton Sai pier, where a small arrival fee is collected and porters with handcarts meet the boats.
Koh Lanta is linked to the mainland by road, with vehicle ferries across two narrow channels. Minivans from Krabi airport and town take around two to three hours and deliver you to your hotel, all year round. Passenger ferries between Phi Phi and Lanta’s Saladan pier take about an hour to an hour and a half and run mainly from November to April.

Getting around Koh Phi Phi & Koh Lanta
Phi Phi Don has no roads: you walk, and longtail “taxis” from Ton Sai beach serve the outlying beaches and Phi Phi Leh. Lanta has one main road down the west coast; tuk-tuks with sidecars are the taxis, songthaews are few, and many visitors rent scooters — the same licence, helmet and insurance cautions apply as everywhere in Thailand, and the road south of Klong Nin is steep.
