Both islands have plenty of tours that start locally, which is what you want if you are staying there; several of the most-reviewed Phi Phi trips instead start in Phuket or Krabi and are included below for day-trippers. Check the starting point before you book.
These picks were chosen in October 2026. Prices are indicative “from” prices in euros; private longtails are priced per boat, and national park fees are usually collected in cash on the day.

Booking tips
- Maya Bay rules. Boats land at a pier on the back of the island and you walk through; swimming in the bay is not allowed, visits are time-limited and numbers are capped. The bay normally closes for a recovery period each year, recently in August and September.
- Park fees. Phi Phi, Koh Rok and Lanta’s national park charge foreign visitors a fee, usually a few hundred baht each.
- Go early. A private longtail leaving Ton Sai around sunrise reaches Pileh and Maya before the speedboats from Phuket.
- Season. Koh Rok trips and most Lanta ferries run only from about November to April. In the monsoon, seas are rough and many Lanta businesses close.
- Wildlife. Do not feed monkeys or fish, do not touch coral or turtles, and keep your distance from sharks — they are shy and harmless if left alone.
